Welcome to Boy Scout Troop 845

Our Boy Scout troop is located in Richmond, Virginia in the Heart of Virginia Council. For those searching for a troop to join, we invite you to come by one of our meetings and see what we are all about.

We go on about 12 trips each year, including a week-long summer camp and a wide range of other trips which change from year to year. Trips include hiking on the Appalachian Trail, skiing, caving, biking, and camping in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Although our meetings are in Richmond, we travel all across Virginia to find the coolest adventure. And as far as advancement, we usually have about one to two new Eagle Scouts each year.

Want to come visit our next troop meeting? Send us an email for more information and to let us know you are coming, we look forward to meeting you! We meet weekly on Tuesdays at 7pm at the Shenandoah Community Clubhouse, located at 9601 Redbridge Road.

Youth Protection Training

Tuesday May 15th, 2012

Per BSA policy, all adults having direct contact with scouts, not just leaders but anyone that volunteer for events, camp, and trips must complete Youth Protection Training. It is good for two years and must be re-taken after that time. All adults planning to go on the Eagle Point trip this weekend must complete this brief online training before the trip, if they have not already done so. If the troop were to be audited and it was found that we were not staying on top of this training, the Council could deny us tour permits for future trips. It would be a good idea for all the adults to take it before they actually need it to go on a trip. It doesn't take very long at all to complete.  ... (read more)
